Hope Davis' Television Career

Hope Davis is a talented American actress. Davis grew up in New Jersey, and started acting professionally after leaving college. She has performed in a number of theatrical plays, motion pictures and television shows.
"Deadline"
Hope Davis' first major television role was as a cast member of a series titled "Deadline." "Deadline" was created by veteran producer Dick Wolf of Law & Order fame, and aired on the NBC network. The show was focused on a fictional daily newspaper called the New York Ledger and starred Oliver Platt as Hope Davis' character's ex-husband. Although the series premiered to strong numbers, viewership quickly fell-off and "Deadline" was cancelled after only five episodes.
"Six Degrees"
Hope Davis' next television role was on the series "Six Degrees." "Six Degrees" was centered on a group of people living in New York City, and their respective relationships and connections with one another. It was based on the idea of six degrees of separation. The show received a great critical response but was never able to attract a large audience, and as a result was cancelled after only one season.
"In Treatment"
Hope Davis found her greatest television success as a cast member of the HBO drama "In treatment." Davis joined the show in its second season and played the role of the bitter and self deprecating Mia. Mia was a successful, unmarried malpractice attorney who returned to therapy with Dr. Paul Weston (played by Gabriel Byrne) after a 20 year absence because of a lack of stability in her personal life.
Hope Davis is a very gifted actress. She has found success in all forms of media. On television, Davis starred in the shows "Deadline," "Six Degrees" and "In treatment."
